About

Galiano is a magical island and for us this land has a special feeling.  It was an orchard from over a hundred years ago, and there is a myth that there is buried treasure in the meadow where the orchard used to be. The cove you see over the road was once the place that the mail came in to the North End of the Island. (Shaw’s Landing). It is still a public beach with access from the right.

Watch out over Trincomali Channel (the body of water visibile from the balcony) for orcas, otters, seals and many sea birds. Eagles fly overhead, humming birds love us, and you will see deer, raccoons, squirrels and the occasional mink. Sit quietly and you will hear raven, woodpeckers and all sorts of bird song.
